Can anyone give me tips about blues guitar playing?
I started about 3 years ago with the guitar so im pretty well equipped for finger picking but i thinksits time i learned some blues because it sounds very interesting and also challenging. Any help?

No matter what style of music you are playing I guess the main thing is to play it with feeling and passion. Go back and and listen to some of the early blues like Robert Johnson , Muddy Waters , Howlin’ Wolf and guys like that. Then check out some Clapton , SRV , Robert Cray, then some Kenny Wayne Shepard , Johnny Lang , Indiginous (probably not spelled right , lol) Gary Moore, Keb Mo etc…..etc….You will find that each of these artists cook up the blues in their own way but at the same time the 12 bar blues is their main ingredient and they aren’t just going through the motions they are feeling the music. Just because a guy can play the blues scale and bend a few notes doesn’t make him a blues player , the passion has to be there!

Learn the pentatonic minor scale and your 7th and 9th chords all over the neck and you will be well on your way!!! The other thing to start fiddling with is get an acoustic guitar, tune it to open G, put a slide on your pincky or ring finger and start sliding!!!
