though playing for Albert Collins, I hear a lot of Clapton, BB and Albert King in her playing. She’s a solid blues-player but didn’t nail the point in this solo (funny seeing her shake her head after losing the connection, not relying on her inner flow).
October 4, 2011 - 3:57 am
Great performer. Not familiar with her, but will certainly check her out.
October 4, 2011 - 4:53 am
Debbie & Albert Collins were a formidable duo. So good to see she’s still keeping the faith for him.
Albert knew talent when he saw it.
October 4, 2011 - 4:55 am
She learned from the best…Albert Collins

@pmay222 Tell that to Susan Tedeschi, Deborah Coleman, Gaye Adegbalola, Ann Rabson, Ana Popovic, Shemekia Copeland, Candye Kane, Sue Foley, Rory Block, Marcia Ball, Honey Piazza, Gina Sicilia, Ruthie Foster, Sarah Brown, Bettye Lavette, Bonnie Raitt, E.G. Kight, Angela Strehli, Lou Ann Barton, Rita Chiarelli, or any of the other great women out there playing the blues. They’ll tell you where to stick it (and probably how far, too)!
October 4, 2011 - 10:47 am
Please don’t misconstrue this, but here goes: Debbie doesn’t deserve to be placed on any “great female guitarists” list, she should be put on a “great guitarists PERIOD” list! Gender is immaterial, this lady rules on that Strat. I love Clapton, but it was a travesty that there were no female guitarists on his 2004 “Crossroads” show. He had Susan Tedeschi at the next one, but it was because she was touring with her husband Derek Trucks. Give the women axe-slingers some love!
