Rickenbacker Guitars
The Rickenbacker International Corporation (RIC) grew out of the first company founded for the sole purpose of creating and manufacturing fully electric musical instruments and amplifiers-the Los Angeles-based Electro String Instrument Corporation. Founded in 1931 by Adolph Rickenbacker and George D. Beauchamp, this pioneering firm produced “Rickenbacker Electro Instruments”, the first modern electric guitars. RIC’s history now spans 77 years in business on the leading edge of music trends that have changed popular culture forever. www.akorn.tv/primer

But it sure helps when the player is playing a 370-12 string …. wow Puppiesinspace, you sound like you’re just upset cause you can’t have one … “show him the money” before he gets any more crazy. Rickenbackers are without a doubt the finest hand made instrument on the market. I’ve been playing music for 50 years and I knew that was a fact when I was in 9th grade after I played a 1964 Rickenbacker 370-12. I was what 14 or 15 years old and had been playing five years.

As he says, Rickenbackers are holy in the music world.

Oh man.. I’m a long way from being able to afford a Rickenbacker. I’ve always liked the look but was too affraid to plug one in, I mean I had plans of getting a 330 or 360 when I’m 40+ . But I did something stupid and plugged a 330 in, now I want one now haha. I just can’t make up my mind if I want a 330 or a 360, the 360 does look nice with the binding and sharkteeth inlay.

June 6, 2011 - 2:04 am
@puppiesinspace p.s. Gibson’s QC is appalling
June 6, 2011 - 3:02 am
@puppiesinspace Wow you’re pretty tough sitting behind your keyboard. I actually wanted to hear about how Ric screwed you over and how they mistreated you but every time I ask to hear your story you don’t actually answer my questions. Instead you just hurl insults at everyone. So now I think you’re just a lonely wanker and maybe your two shitty Rics can be attributed to karma.

@StephenFiorentini Yes. The SHIT4001. Comes in Shit-glow only. Its caked in nitro, even thick poly coats breath more!! The frets are specially designed to be at different levels all over the fret board so you’ll be sure to have dead notes & buzzing up & down the neck everywhere. BTW, as w/all Rickenfuckers, be sure to keep the neck absolutely straight. Its important you needn’t mind the physics of string vibration to create the perfect storm for more buzz & dead notes! Enjoy your SHIT4001

@StephenFiorentini So fucking ignorant , stubborn, & selfish!!!!
June 6, 2011 - 4:51 am
@ramonaHQ BECAUSE THEY ARE MADE TO ORDER DUMB ASS!!!! Maybe if they learned something from Fender or Gibson about factory efficiency & QC people wouldn’t have to wait 4 FUCKING YEARS!!! YES I SAID 4 FUCKING YEARS FOR A SINGLE GOD DAMNED INSTRUMENT!!!!

In the old Ricks of the 60′s , such as the ones that th beatles were playing, what kind of magnet was standard in the pickups?

@WoWintosh Not true. I have a Les Paul, made of all Maple just like a Ric, that gets the same tone of a Ric 360 just by rolling the Mid knob down a tad. Before I sold my 360, I compared it to my Jazzmaster: They sounded the same, expect the JM sounded more up front and was better for recording.

The 5 people who disliked this video are the CEOs of Gibson.

I just wish my Rickenbacker 350V63 were a solid body.I don’t know why they have to chamber all their guitars they should offer both versions.

rick-o-sound is the coolest thing ever, stereo 1/8 TRS instead of just mono like every other guitar. another world of possibilities past the great deep tone these beauties produce. i will never ever sell mine, i dont think i even need a new guitar for at least another 20 years after getting my ric 360
June 6, 2011 - 10:35 am
@ampz37 no shit…
June 6, 2011 - 10:53 am

@lucas070798
Because they are high quality, solidly built instruments. Plus they have a unique sound you can’t get with any other guitar.

Rickenbacker is great. Its not as well rounded as a Les Paul or Strat, and it doesnt have that blues tone of an ES 335 of a tele neck pickup. But it can hold its own, it brings something new to the table. Great for poppy sounds and mod sounds.
